they occupied both the lightness and the dark

quote from lunopolis

This is an outfit I wore on one of the few last days of classes.  I apologize for presenting all these back posts but I was so busy for two weeks in a row all I have is the previous week's outfits.

I originally purchased this dress for a few weddings I had to attend but it has, since then, incorporated itself into my wardrobe.  I'm not complaining :)

the works: multicolored dress: forever 21; belt: thrifted; pink tennies: converse.

i never knew a girl with so many secrets

quote from the killing

For $8 this pencil skirt is quite the bargain; I've worn it about half a dozen times so far in every manner conceivable: with converse, heels, fancy tennies, to work, to a get together, to go grocery shopping... It is just thick enough to not be [overly] revealing and the length conservative enough to not be too sassy for daytime.  If you're on the look out, I suggest it!

the works: tank/red pencil skirt: forever 21; belt/clutch: thrifted/vintage; heels: steve madden.

i wish you were an angel.

I hate this quote but it's so true:

"The person who cares the least has the most power."

the works: red and white crop top: forever 21; dark blue jeans: lf car mar (ebay!); sandals: franco sarto; necklace: forever 21/

first it pleaded, then it bargained

 quote from L&O SVU

Another day, another work outfit!

This jacket makes me inexplicably dizzy but at least it keeps me distracted during the work day :)

the works: black and white blazer/headband: forever 21; coated jeans: black milk (ollld); neon tshirt: jcrew? madewell? silver flats: baker's (ollld).

happiness is only real when shared

quote from : christopher mccandless

I do not understand why [some] people think that, because they fulfill some role in another person's life (boyfriend, husband, wife, lover, etc) that they deserve something in reciprocation.  Especially if they do not deserve it.  You have to create the environment you desire; you cannot expect it to happen simply because you want it to or think it should be.  It takes work to have a relationship -- on whichever level -- in this world so why is it that people think they should automatically receive something simply because they fulfill the previously mentioned role? It's a sad state of affairs when one person believes they are entitled to something simply because they exist.

I wore this outfit during finals week; I'm a brunette now! Well...kinda :)

the works: orange tank: forever 21; dark blue jeans: lf car mar (ebay $5!); tennies: converse; scarf: madewell (ollld); necklace: h&m

Something to think about:

"Sometimes people come into your life and you know right away that they were meant to be there, to serve some sort of purpose, teach you a lesson, or to help you figure out who you are or who you want to become.

You never know who these people may be–a roommate, a neighbor, a professor, a friend, a lover, or even a complete stranger–but when you lock eyes with them, you know at that very moment they will affect your life in some profound way.

Sometimes things happen to you that may seem horrible, painful and unfair at first, but in reflection you find that without overcoming those obstacles, you would have never realized your potential, strength, willpower, or heart.

Everything happens for a reason. Nothing happens by chance or by means of good luck. Illness, injury, love, lost moments of true greatness and sheer stupidity all occur to test the limits of your soul. Without these small tests, whatever they may be, life would be like a smoothly paved straight flat road to nowhere. It would be safe and comfortable, but dull and utterly pointless.

The people you meet who affect your life, and the success and downfalls you experience, help to create who you are and who you become. Even the bad experiences can be learned from. In fact, they are sometimes the most important ones.

If someone loves you, give love back to them in whatever way you can. Not only because they love you, but because in a way, they are teaching you to love and how to open your heart and eyes to things.

If someone hurts you, betrays you, or breaks your heart, forgive them, for they have helped you learn about trust and the importance of being cautious to whom you open your heart to.

Make every day count. Appreciate every moment and take from those moments everything that you possibly can, for you may never be able to experience it again. Talk to people that you have never talked to before, and actually listen to what they have to say.

Let yourself fall in love, break free and set your sights high. Hold your head up because you have every right to. Tell yourself you are a great individual and believe in yourself, for if you don't believe in yourself, it will be hard for others to believe in you.

You can make of your life anything you wish. Create your own life and then go out and live it with absolutely no regrets. Most importantly, if you love someone tell him or her, for you never know what tomorrow will have in store. You learn a lesson in life each day you live. Today is the tomorrow you were worried about yesterday." — Unknown
